A small studio with a wax melter and strong opinions.

We began the way most of these things begin: one melter, a kitchen counter, and far too many test pours that went straight into the bin. The goal was simple and annoyingly hard to hit — a candle that actually scents a room, burns evenly to the last centimetre, and looks good enough to leave out when guests arrive.

It took us most of a year to settle on the wax. Soy alone frosts and throws weakly; paraffin throws beautifully and we weren't willing to burn it. The soy-coconut blend we landed on burns slower, holds more fragrance oil, and doesn't tunnel if you treat the first burn properly.

Everything still happens in small batches. We fill, wick, cure and label by hand, which is why a scent occasionally sells out for a fortnight and why we'd rather tell you that than pour something we're not happy with.
